Change the life of a GALA Senior and help her reach her college and career goals by donating to the Dr. Liz Hicks GALA Founder Scholarship Award.
This scholarship is presented to a GALA Senior that embodies the core values of Excellence, Leadership, Wellness, and Honor.
2023 recipients
The class of 2023 was GALA's very first full-span (6th-12th grade) graduating class. This was the first year two recipients were awarded, Ella Salim and Jillian King.
Ella was the ASB all-school President, a GALA athlete, an excellent scholar and incredible leader.
Jillian was also in ASB leadership, a GALA athlete, and excellent scholar.
Ella is attending the University of Virginia and Jillian is attending the University of Wisconsin, Madison as a Posse scholar. Congratulations to both on their achievements!
2022 recipient
The third scholarship recipient is Audrey Solarz. She is attending UCLA and majoring in Gender Studies. Congratulations to Audrey and her family.
2021 recipient
The second Dr. Liz Hicks GALA Founder Scholarship Award Winner was Kennedy Taylor from the Class of 2021. As the all-school President, Athlete, and high achieving academic scholar she inhabits the GALA values of Excellence, Leadership, Wellness, and Honor. She will be attending UCLA this fall 2021. Congratulations to Kennedy and her family.
2020 recipient
The first Dr. Liz Hicks GALA Founder Scholarship Award Winner is Vivien Black from the very first graduating class of GALA, the Class of 2020. Vivien was in school leadership all four years of High School, including being the ASB all-school President. She was a GALA athlete and an excellent scholar. She attended UC Berkeley and graduates from college in 2024. Congratulations to Vivien and her family.
